OVERVIEW

Shelter the People Cleveland is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the design, development, and construction of facilities for unhoused and housing-insecure individuals and families in Cleveland, Ohio. With a mission rooted in the belief that housing is a fundamental human right, the organization provides permanent and transitional housing that is safe, sustainable, and dignified. StPC also happens to be the only winter shelter in Cleveland that is ADA Accessible and allows for animal companions.

CHALLENGE

After achieving 501(c)(3) status, Shelter the People Cleveland needed to establish an online presence to secure grants essential to their work. However, as a newly formed nonprofit with limited financial resources, the organization faced the challenge of creating a professional website quickly and affordably. The absence of a website was literally holding up funding.

SOLUTION

Favorite Nephew collaborated directly with the organization’s founder and executive director, Stephanie Thomas, to craft a website that communicated the organization’s mission, vision, and services effectively. Starting from zero, Favorite Nephew not only designed and developed the website but also worked closely with Stephanie to create content that resonated with the organization's values.

RESULTS

In short order, Favorite Nephew delivered a functional and visually appealing website that allowed Shelter the People Cleveland to establish legitimacy and begin securing the funding necessary to fulfill its mission. The website gave the nonprofit a platform to connect with potential donors, grantors, and community partners, furthering its goal to advocate for Cleveland’s housing-insecure residents.
